Rare 19th Century baseball cards still catch the attention of even the most experienced collecting enthusiast, and this 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions issue of Hall of Famer Dan Brouthers certainly provides an appearance in excess of the SGC 55 VG/EX+ 4.5 grade. A stunning display of deep blue surrounds the detailed portrait of "Big Dan" to excite the senses, with a deep registration that shows very few signs of its 120+ years of existence. Four EX to EX+ corners stand up well to the rigors of time while the reverse has some mild age spots but looks extremely appealing. Very harshly evaluated.
