The American Tobacco Company, in an effort to increase sales by expanding their promotional items beyond just cards, issued a series of pins from 1910-1912. The set is considered closely related to the T205 Gold Border set released at nearly the same time, as all but nine players in the pin set are also featured on the cards, with the photos being nearly identical in almost all cases. The set includes 152 different players, but there are various "large letter" and "small letter" variations, and there are actually three players who have three pins each, bringing the total checklist to 205 different pins. Offered here, for your bidding and collecting pleasure is the #2 ranked pin collection on the PSA Set Registry with a set rating of 7.726, well within striking distance of the top rated set, currently at 7.86. Key pins include PSA 9 MINT examples of Home Run Baker, Roger Bresnahan (mouth open - one of one with none graded higher), Ty Cobb (large letters), Clark Griffith (small letters), Miller Huggins (small letters), Hugh Jennings (large letters - one of one with none graded higher), Walter Johnson (small letters), Tris Speaker (small letters), Joe Tinker (small letters) and Zack Wheat (large letters - one of one with none graded higher).
