Graded SGC 80 EX/NM 6 and near perfectly centered, this is a clean example of Hugh Duffy's remarkably colorful T206 issue with a Sweet Caporal ad back. A key member of the famous Boston Beaneaters teams of the 1890s, Duffy batted .440 in 1894, the highest full season major league batting average of all time, but he appears on surprisingly few cards that predate the T206 issue. With strong corners surrounding such a boldly struck image, you might think SGC got a little conservative on the grading of this one.
