Presented is a brilliant example of Ty Cobb’s iconic 1911 T3 Turkey Red cabinet card. Advanced collectors are well aware that Turkey Reds are known for their mesmerizing full color lithographic prints and the offered example is one of the most recognized of the series, not just because it features the legendary Ty Cobb but also due to the stoic expression and pose with an array of varying bold colors in the backdrop. Despite its grade of PSA GOOD 2, this stunning piece retains every bit of its original luster with the image of Cobb exhibiting an overwhelmingly bold print registration. Some staining and indentations around the perimeter and on the reverse, in addition to light creases in the upper left and lower right, limit the overall assessment. But this example offers a fine balance of eye appeal and affordability that collectors should find enticing.
