Technically they're artistic flannel swatches, but the B-18 specimens are known as "blankets" because it was common to sew the patches together to create a large blanket or bed cover. As a result, not many have survived in tip-top condition, but this group of 145 blankets, which includes many rare variations of infield, basepath and pennant colors and significant Hall of Famers, is about the most well-preserved group we've ever seen. In EX/MT to NM condition overall, some even reaching as high as NM/MT, this collection is an amazing addition to any vintage collection. Key pieces include Joe Jackson (purple pennants) NM, Cobb (brown infield) NM (OC), W. Johnson (green pennants) NM, Chance (green infield) NM/MT (OC), Stengel (green infield) NM, Stengel (blue infield) NM+, Maranville (white infield) NM (OC), Wheat (blue infield) NM (OC), Tyler (brown infield) EX/MT, Whaling (brown infield) NM (OC), Wallace (purple basepaths) EX, Wallace (red basepaths) EX/MT, Gowdy (brown infield) EX/MT, Cavanaugh (brown infield) VG/EX and Bauman (brown infield) NM (MC).
