In a rare moment when Babe Ruth's "wheels" were bigger than his bat, "The Bambino" uses his baserunning prowess to land at third base safely in Game 1 of the 1923 World Series on this Type I original photo, but a 9th-inning inside-the-park homer by Casey Stengel was the difference in a 5-4 Giants victory. The International Newsreel stamp and teletype caption are on the reverse and the photo has wavy edges and other minor blemishes but presents well. Measures 8" x 10."
