If you ranked the players in the 24-card DeLong series in order of greatness, Riggs Stephenson probably wouldn't make the top half, even with his career .336 batting average. But when it comes to 1933 DeLong cards graded PSA 8, there isn't a single example tougher to come by than Riggs Stephenson, one of only 2 to earn the grade with none graded higher. While we've never seen the other existing PSA 8, it would be extremely difficult to top this one! First off the color is truly exceptional, with deep blue, yellow, green and red pigments dominating the surface, well-positioned within a strong white border. The corners and edges are up to the qualifications for a NM/MT grade while the reverse surface is clean with well-struck black print. There's plenty of competition on the PSA Set Registry and this rare specimen is likely to single-handedly change the rankings!
