Only 24 years old when this 1939 Play Ball card was issued, Joe already had three full seasons under his belt where he averaged 36 homers and 144 RBI while batting .331, achievements that served simply as a continuation of the Ruth - Gehrig era. The nearly flawlessly centered image of the Yankee Clipper on this '39 Play Ball is supported by NM/MT or better corners and a problem free surface save for one print speck on the bottom border. A true classic worthy of the grade!
