He may not be the biggest superstar in Yankees history but "Joltin' Joe" DiMaggio just might be the franchise's best representative. Though born and raised in California, the Italian son of Ellis Island immigrants was a perfect match for the pre-war Bronx melting pot and was cheered by faithful Yankees fans as the next legend to take over for Lou Gehrig and lead the dynasty forward. A case can be made for many different issues being DiMaggio's most popular card but if you asked collectors to make a list of their top five, his 1941 Play Ball card would be on virtually all of them. The 1941 card of "The Yankee Clipper" is coveted for its incredible artwork, featuring Joe D. finishing his famous swing in the foreground of a rich yellow, green and deep purple colored backdrop. Graded PSA 7, this card will elevate any high-caliber collection without completely breaking the bank for any advanced collector. Each corner appears to meet or exceed the criteria for NM grade while the interior is powered by bold colors and a sharp image of DiMaggio. Centering is extremely close to perfection, making it a very strong representative for the grade!
