While the Bronx had an up and coming superstar centerfielder named Mantle, the island of Manhattan was more than happy to introduce one of their own future legends in "The Say Hey Kid" Willie Mays. Graded PSA 5, this 1951 Bowman Mays rookie card is mildly positioned toward the horizontal left side with fine aesthetic qualities of clarity and color. The corners show the usual touches commensurate with the grade and the reverse is surprisingly clean and bright, far superior to others we've seen at this grade level. One of the most important productions of the post-war era and a fine representation at the grade of PSA 5.
