An extremely difficult card to find in high-grade, Billy Martin rookie cards from the '52 Topps set tend to have a washed-out and dark look to them. But this example has unusually appealing color and a bright surface, which is coupled with slightly above-grade corners to counteract the slightly shifted centering to reach the NM grade. Once you get above this grade level, the price point takes off exponentially with only a slight improvement in appearance, so this one really makes sense.
