With his Topps debut card of 1952 out of reach for virtually all but the most well-financed hobbyists, collectors are turning to his second Topps appearance that resides in the 1953 series, though that is quickly becoming too pricey for most collectors as well. Considered by many to be his most attractive Topps card, the red, white, and blue color scheme really catches the eye, but as we said, it is increasingly catching the wallet as well. The featured PSA 7 example of Mickey Mantle's iconic 1953 Topps issue offers an immensely bold and predominantly clean image that serves as the highlight to this appealing specimen. What appear to be NM to NM/MT corners on the front are even more impressive from the reverse, barely showing any signs of microscopic chipping along the red edges. The glossy obverse shows a spattering of characteristic blue print dust in the backdrop, though if the centering were more precise, we're confident the grade could have been a half to full point higher. A delightful, upper-grade example of one of the hobby's most cherished cards, offered in PSA 7 NM condition.
