Considered by many to be the most dominant pitcher of his time, "Rapid Robert" Feller led the American League in wins for three consecutive seasons but chose not to run the string to four, enlisting in the United States Navy two days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. After a three year stint, Feller returned to a heroes welcome at the tail end of the 1945 season and led the American League in wins two more times in 1946 and 1947. Feller was one of six future Hall of Famers included in the very elusive and condition-sensitive 1954 20-card Wilson Franks series and the featured SGC 96 MINT example isn't just the only Feller card on record at that grade but the only card from the entire series that has ever graded MINT with SGC. Offering near-perfect centering (almost unheard of for the issue) with a well-registered image, four bonafide MINT corners, a clean, bright surface, and a problem-free reverse, it's quite possibly the finest example known for the enigmatic Wilson Franks series.
