Arguably the greatest pure athlete of the 20th century, Jim Thorpe is just one of many legends that were honored in the 1955 Topps All-America set. A precise image of Thorpe in his red and gold Carlisle Indian Industrial School uniform is enhanced by the depth of blue color bestowed upon the backdrop, all of which retain a pack-fresh boldness without the usual color fade that is common to the series. The centering lightly favors the right edge, with NM/MT to NM/MT+ corners and a mild rough cut on the left edge.
