Over the past five years, the 1955 Topps Roberto Clemente rookie card has risen to become one of the top debut cards, not just of the 1950s but of all-time for the Topps company. It's inviting green backdrop and superb close-up portrait of the Puerto Rican sensation is a standout in any collection. With PSA 8 examples shooting through the roof price wise, an excellent consideration of any advanced collector is this marvelous PSA 7 sample. The centering is more than adequate and actually bests some higher-graded examples we've seen, plus the stunning rough cut along the right horizontal edge gives the card a little extra character. The corners easily achieve NM standards and are probably deserve a little better assessment while both surfaces are clean and pleasing to the eye. At this grade level, it would be hard to find a more attractive specimen.
