Easily ranking near the top of important rookie issues ever produced for basketball, the featured example of Hall of Famer Bill Russell's 1957 Topps debut card is graded SGC 86 NM+ 7.5. Though Michael Jordan is widely considered to be the best professional basketball player ever, Bill Russell holds the title of being the most successful. A five-time MVP and 12 time All-Star, Russell won an unprecedented 11 NBA championships over his 13 seasons. Not only was Russell a consummate winner in the NBA, he also led his college team, The University of San Francisco to back-to-back NCAA championships. The 1957 Topps Bill Russell rookie card offered here is impressive, not perfect but still nicely centered for the issue with barely any of stray print that often dominates the surface of lower graded examples. The endpoints are on the brink of NM/MT status while the clean reverse, gives no cause for concern. A worthy addition to any advanced collection.
