The 1961 Fleer basketball set is known for its important rookie cards, and one of the issues leading the charge is the debut of Hall of Famer/NBA logo model Jerry West. Attention commanding yellow and orange greet the viewer without the usual woeful centering so common to the series, instead showing just a slight lean toward the upper left. The four corners pass muster for the opined grade and the surface offers a regal, glass-like appearance of smooth gloss. The reverse is splendidly printed with mild toning and none of the pesky stains that so frequently contribute to the downfall of this issue. This a terrific example of this ultra-important rookie card of the 1967-70 NBA scoring leader.
