Mickey Mantle cards of any year will always be in huge demand, but the 1961 Topps card is one of the most popular due to his highly publicized home run race with Roger Maris to see who, if either, would catch the great Babe Ruth as the single-season home run champ. The presented PSA 8 specimen shows a barely noticeably lean toward the left edge edge, offset by four sturdy endpoints that rate slightly higher than the overall assessment. The image quality is spot-on with subtle red-pink coloring putting a little color in the Mick's cheeks, while the reverse is free from any significant impairments. Add in a heavy layer of gloss and this one shines, quite literally.
