The 1964 MLB campaign saw Roberto Clemente lead the league in hits with 211 and batting average with .339 while appearing in his fifth consecutive All-Star game and earning his fourth consecutive Gold Glove. While the 1964 Topps issue can often be plagued with stray print marks and poor centering, the featured example has sidestepped both of those hurdles to earn a grade of MINT 9 as determined by PSA. Image clarity and color retention are both superior, and corners make a case for GEM MINT consideration. To date, there is just one PSA 10 on record, and if this one were centered slightly more accurately on the reverse, it could easily have joined that one.
