In virtually every collection where Mickey Mantle makes an appearance, his card is the cornerstone of the collection. Not so though in 1967, where the debut pasteboard of "Tom Terrific" resides. Awarded his signing rights in a lottery drawing, Tom Seaver transformed the New York Mets from one of the worst teams in baseball history to "amazin'" in just 3 years. Seaver made his debut in the 1967 Topps series, a set plagued with many different condition issues such as print defects and inaccurate centering, but you won't have to deal with any of those liabilities with this all-important rookie card. The offered specimen is free from any flaws whatsoever, boasting MINT quality centering, corners, and a clean surface with overall image quality that is deserving of the elevated grade. This is a spectacular high-grade example of a true post-war classic, one of the most important issues of the 1960s.
