Completing the trifecta of game-used Gilles Meloche jerseys, this beauty from the long since defunct California Golden Seals is an early 1970s sweater, and is autographed by Meloche in fine black sharpie, with what appears to be three black tally marks directly under the seam inside the tail, perhaps pertaining to custom alterations requested by Meloche. The collar has been slit in the front, with the edges stitched back to form a V shape, while all identifiers are individually tackle twill stitched. Gilles Meloche lasted for 18 professional seasons, as did the entirety of the franchise, from its WHL inception in 1961 as the San Francisco Seals, changing the name to the California Seals in 1966, joining the NHL and becoming the Oakland Seals in 1967, then changing to the California Golden Seals in 1970, and finally relocating to become the Cleveland Barons in 1976, only to disband two seasons later. What a ride! LOA from Mile High Card Co.
