Cards from the 1972 Topps series run a little over 2% graded PSA 10, according to the PSA pop report. Tell that to collectors that have been searching forever to land a GEM MINT version of Carlton Fisk's rookie card and be prepared for a diatribe as just 10 have managed achieve GEM MINT status out of over 6,300 submissions. But here's one of those fortunate ten that sit atop the grading scale, dead-perfectly centered with spotless surfaces, GEM MINT endpoints, and a mild, alluring rough-cut on the top and bottom horizontal edges. When you consider that a GEM MINT 1980 Topps rookie card of Rickey Henderson, of which there are 24, recently sold for $60,000, what does that say about the value of this older, more scarce specimen?
