Though his 1986 Fleer card gets all the accolades for being his mainstream rookie card and arguably the single most important hardwood issue ever produced, this elusive, high-end issue from Star Company is actually the debut of Michael Jordan as a professional and is far more limited in production that the '86 Fleer card. A stunning Chicago Bulls red border surrounds the clean image of the young MJ hauling in a rebound. The edges concede no more that a fleck of wear, only visible through high-powered magnification, while four corners project as high-end MINT to GEM MINT points. The surface is super glossy, the central image quality precise and the centering is mildly shifted to the left, very common for the issue. A stunning early card, the true rookie card, of the greatest athlete of our generation with Beckett's nod of approval and a MINT 9 designation.
