With each passing day, the value of a high-grade 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card seems to reach a new level. Arguably the most important post-war rookie card in any sport, this celebrated issue continues to rise in both popularity and demand even as MJ approaches almost 20 years since he last stepped on the hardcourt. A cornerstone of any basketball card collection, the card stands by itself in terms of sheer iconic status. Certain modern players may prove to post more impressive stats at some point, but six championship rings certainly make the case for Jordan to be the greatest of all time. And the recent documentary, "The Last Dance" only drove the popularity of the card to even more exalted levels, Offered here is an absolute stunner of a specimen, graded at the MINT 9 level by Beckett with Mike Baker Authenticated adding its Gold Diamond certification as one of the best in its grading class. This one offers stunning colors with exquisite detail in the magnificent central image of Jordan, with no evidence of handling along the full color borders, all the way to the extreme tips. Beckett evaluated the corners and edges to be 9.5 GEM MINT, with just a tiny shift of a degree or two to the right possibly making the difference between high-end MINT and GEM MINT. No advanced basketball card collection could be considered "world-class" without an exceptional example of Michael Jordan's red, white, and blue debut card, and for the grade of MINT this is one of the best!
