Feel free to argue all you want about the greatest baseball, football, or hockey card ever produced, but when it comes to the hardwood, the conversation begins and ends with the 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card. If you had any other pasteboard in mind, stop now, because .... no. There has never been a greater basketball player than Michael Jordan and probably never will be, but even if there was, it's likely that anyone who's has ever witnessed Jordan's magic in person would steadfastly refuse to admit it. Offered with pride is this amazingly powerful example of Michael Jordan's compelling rookie card, bursting forth with outrageous color and clarity to dazzle the viewer with it's enormous visual appeal. One of the most submitted sports cards on record at PSA, the 268 known GEM MINT examples originate from a pool of well over 16,000 attempts, producing a success rate of just 1.5% as compared to 7% for the rest of the 1986 Fleer basketball series. First and foremost is the centering, the most common pitfall to knock any candidate from GEM MINT consideration, and this one is virtually perfect from top to bottom as well as side to side. The next roadblock to a perfect score is the evidence of chipping along the red and blue colored edges and tips, but that is non-existent here as well. Each corner is clearly GEM MINT and the reverse stands right up to the lofty task as well. If you've never owned the famous rookie card of "His Airness" in perfect PSA 10 GEM MINT condition but have been waiting to make the right investment, it's a good thing you waited for this one to come along.
