Unlike Tom Brady, a 6th round draft pick given very little fanfare when he entered the NFL, Peyton Manning was the #1 overall pick in the draft, lauded as a can't-miss prospect that would one day be making a speech in Canton at his Hall of Fame induction. And Manning lived up to the hype, closing his career with an impressive 186-79 record as a starter and ranks #3 all-time in passing yards and passing touchdowns. There were many different issues that included a Peyton Manning RC in some form or fashion but his 1998 SP Authentic Future Watch card stands near the top of the list as one of the most coveted debut pasteboards from the gridiron. Serial numbered 1164/2000 in gold foil on the reverse, this scintillating example has been graded PSA 10 GEM MINT. While the colored edges lend themselves to possible chipping, this card shows absolutely no sign of wear in any respect. One of the most significant modern football RC issues on record, the already accelerated demand for comparable specimens will only increase as Manning puts on that yellow jacket in Canton.
