Credited along with fellow artist Alton Kelly as the creator of the Grateful Dead's iconic skull and roses imagery, Stanley Mouse was the primary artist for the band's concert posters and album covers for the majority of its career. His original artwork is highly sought after by Deadheads and rock and roll memorabilia worldwide. Here's a fantastic pencil sketch merging two of his most famous images: Jerry Angel and the Jester. Having passed away in 1995, Mouse created the image of Jerry Garcia with angel wings and a halo, and in this depiction, he is wearing the jester's hat and clothes. Mouse has placed his distinguished signature at the bottom with the inscription 2004 Red Rocks, most likely from the June 19, 2004 performance at the world-famous concert venue by the surviving members of the band, known as the Dead. Visible area is approximately 14" x 19" and the frame is 28" x 31".
