Near the turn of the century, it seemed like every large corporation or town was fielding a baseball team, but not much has been recorded on film to mark the time. Enter this pair of vintage beauties that captures the moment before baseball took off as America's favorite sport. First up is a well-preserved woodsy shot measuring 6 5/8" x 4 5/8" and mounted on a cardboard backing that is 10" x 8" with "Active" across their jerseys. The other photo is a bit more formal, displaying a 9-member team in a 5 1/2" x 7 5/8" snapshot, mounted to a size of 5 1/2" x 81/2." Two spectacular moments in time that epitomize the early days of baseball.
