The 1965 baseball season was nothing short of spectacular, capped off with the Los Angeles Dodgers defeating the Minnesota Twins in 7 games to win their fourth World Series championship in franchise history. Sandy Koufax paced the Dodgers all season, posting a 26-7 record with 27 complete games, 8 shutouts and a perfect game while shortstop Zoilo Versailles delivered a career year for the Twins, winning the American League Most Valuable Player Award while leading the league in runs, doubles, and triples. And Topps released the 1965 set, a bold offering that featured excellent photography and remarkably intense color.
