Part of the well-publicized "Black Swamp Find" of 2012, offered is a stunningly sharp rendition of Cy Young's E98 Anonymous pasteboard (though the image is actually that of Irv Young). While pitching for the Canton (Ohio) club of the Tri-State League in 1890, Denton True Young earned his famous nickname by throwing the ball so hard that his teammates called him "Cyclone," which was shortened to Cy. Even with the clear centering bias and light clockwise turn, the card earns a lofty PSA 7 grade by exhibiting NM/MT to MINT corners, blinding white borders and a deep, unadulterated red backdrop that has become a hallmark of the Black Swamp specimens, which were put away and left undisturbed for over a century. Here's a tremendous opportunity to add this wonderful card from the great Black Swap Find to your advanced holdings!
