April 27th, 1947 was the day that "The Bambino" returned to Yankee Stadium to be honored on Babe Ruth Day, as so designated by Commissioner A. B. "Happy" Chandler. Ruth, Chandler and others appear in this original type I 7x9 photo, which shows normal wear and wavy edges but offers a great piece of New York Yankees history. The newspaper stamp and teletype caption are on the reverse.
