Considered by many to be the finest offensive second baseman since the great Eddie Collins, Chicago Cubs superstar Ryne Sandberg slammed 282 career round-trippers (including a league-leading 40 in 1990) and won the 1984 National League MVP award. He was pretty good with the leather too, earning 9 consecutive Gold Glove awards. The featured bat is about as rock-solid as they come, rating a perfect GU 10 by PSA/DNA. This model K55 Louisville Slugger was used by "Ryno" and is a rookie era club from the 1982-83 time period, with a 34.5" length and 31.5 oz. weight. It is uncracked and shows evidence of heavy use with ball marks, stitch impressions and a heavy coating of pine tar on the handle. The knob has Sandberg's #23 and model K55 written in marker and Sandberg has autographed the bat with a bold "9-10" blue marker signature on the barrel. LOA from PSA/DNA.
