Written from one baseball legend to another. Ty Cobb and Connie Mack were well acquainted with the final two years of Cobb's career spent playing for Mack's Philadelphia A's in 1927 and 1928. About a quarter century later, Cobb penned this two-page letter to Connie Mack in his familiar green ink, sending his regrets that he cannot attend a luncheon due to medical concerns. Cobb goes on to state that he had already missed several events due to doctors' orders although he feels fine, using baseball terminology to state "they seem to have me trapped between the bases." Written on his own personal letterhead, the paper and ink are bold and bright, strong enough to earn a grade of MINT 9 by PSA/DNA. Measures approximately 24" x 20" with an LOA from PSA/DNA.
