A very rare 4-card issue, Connie Mack book cards were distributed exclusively as inserts in first editions of Mack's 1951 baseball biography "My 66 Years in the Big Leagues" and features Babe Ruth, Christy Mathewson, Rube Waddell, and of course, Mack himself. Fronts feature surprisingly precise black and white player photo cut-outs against an off-white backdrop and are reminiscent of earlier PCL Zeenut issues in their striking simplicity. Offered is a complete high-grade set of all four cards, which ranks #2 on the PSA Set Registry and includes PSA 7 examples of Ruth, Mathewson and Mack with a PSA 6 example of Waddell. With just 11 to 18 of each card graded by PSA (57 in all for the entire series), it's difficult enough to land just one example from this scarce series much less get many opportunities to acquire the whole collection, especially in high-grade.
