Produced in 1911, "The Book of Baseball" features historical and instructional information of the great American pastime. The various stories and anecdotes are accompanied by action shots of some of baseball's most beloved legends. Written in pencil inside the cover is "Wrigley Field June 9, 1936 Cubs vs. Phillies" and contains autographs of various Cubs employees, including announcers and broadcasters Hal Totten (1924-1944), Bob Edson (1928-1941), and Pat Piper. Within the pages are vintage autographs of members of the 1935 Cubs National League Championship team including Hartnett, Warneke, Hack, Galan, Grimm, Camilli, Jurges, O'Dea, Demaree, and Carleton along with the Boston Braves' Pinky Whitney. The book exhibits a century of wear but is nonetheless intact.
