Over 7,200 grade-worthy examples of Mickey Mantle's refined 1967 Topps issue have been evaluated by the PSA grading team and only 2 have attained GEM MINT 10 status. And although this one comes up just short, settling in at the next highest level, it features many of the attributes of the pair graded higher, not the least of which is the incredibly bold blue color of the backdrop as well as the near perfect centering. Particularly remarkable here is the impressive saturation of the red ink of "YANKEES" on the front and the shockingly chip-free, green-printed reverse perimeter, which contrasts handsomely against the brightness of the white canvas that offers Mantle's amazing statistics in bold, black ink. A true high-end MINT example.
