Last year, a three panel Piedmont advertising display, circa 1910, was found in the walls of a Michigan cigar store that was being demolished. The piece measured a massive 61" x 40" when the panels were fully expanded and became just the second known fully intact display, which depicts a wonderfully artistic and panoramic view of a baseball stadium scene. Even though it had extensive wear, it's beauty and rarity helped fetch $36,000 at auction. The item offered here is that same Piedmont advertising display but not completely intact, with the side panels and top of the centerpiece cut off but still measures approximately 30" x 25; plenty large to make an effective display. The best part of the entire display is there, showing the pitcher about to deliver his blazer to a waiting batter with the first base side of the stadium visible. even with the reduced size, the Piedmont ad back is mostly visible. One of the greatest known display pieces of the T206 era, not quite intact but still amazingly beautiful.
