Over a decade before joining the Brooklyn Dodgers, Hall of Fame catcher Roy Campanella began his professional career at the age of 15. Just two years later, "Campy" appears in this 1939 Baltimore Elite Giants team shot, posing with the Negro League Championship trophy. Campanella is still wearing his catcher's gear next to owner Bill Robinson. Stamped on the back by photographer M. Smith with some typical wear.
