Just like the Mel Harder artwork in this auction, this artist's prototype displays a Diamond Stars card of Gene Moore that doesn't exist. The oversized piece actually has better color that the vivid finished product released to the public, with a purple, red and yellow backdrop in Diamond Stars fashion but slightly different than what you see on most of the cards. "Gene Moore Bees' is printed in pencil along the bottom border and the card shows no significant wear. Perhaps it was "on deck" for the next Diamond Stars series, but that series was not to be. Measures approximately 11" x 11 3/4" framed.
