This group of original artwork used to make the 1950 Callahan Hall of Fame set was created by Mario DeMarco and features Cooperstown greats Tim Keefe, George " Highpockets" Kelly and Rube Marquard. Unmistakable for his long and painstaking process of creating the images through a "dot method" technique, forming the finished images through a series of thousands of small dots DeMarco made these prototypes available to the public in the 1970s. The example of Kelly has an actual cut signature that has been traced so it would be bold enough for the finished product, and each piece has DeMarco's signature and an affixed nameplate of the subject. Each piece measures 12 3/4" x 9."
