After devoting a set entirely to the life and career of Ted Williams the previous year, Fleer issued a 79-card set in 1960 featuring "baseball greats," all top players from days gone by plus a card depicting the Splendid Splinter, who was in his final major league season. Cards feature color photos inside blue, green, yellow or red borders designed to look like frames. Key cards in this collection are as follows: 3 Ruth NM+, 28 Gehrig NM/MT (OC), 42 Cobb NM/MT (OC), 62 Wagner NM and 72 Williams NM+. The rest of the set is predominantly to NM/MT with a few exceptions that might be slightly higher or lower. Includes two EX "wrong backs": Bing Miller with #42 Cobb back and Marty Marion with #62 Wagner back.
