Babe Ruth's streak of six consecutive seasons as American League home run leader was broken by Philadelphia's Jimmie Foxx in 1932, with "The Beast" earning the American League MVP award. And then Foxx did it again the next year, earning Triple Crown honors and a second straight MVP award. It appeared the torch had been passed and Jimmie Foxx had become the new king of the hill. Foxx displays his massive arms as he begins his power swing on this vintage Detroit News photo, which ably captures his concentration as he brings the bat forward. The borderless photo is very sharp around the perimeter and in outstanding overall condition with handwritten notations and a photographer's stamp on the reverse. Measures 6 x 8 with LOA from PSA/DNA.
