Arguably the greatest pitcher in baseball history, 46-year old Walter Johnson shows that he's successfully made the transition to manager with the Cleveland Indians on this 1934 original type I photo. While he never won a pennant in his seven years as skipper (four with the Senators and three with the Indians), he did post three seasons of 90+ wins and a career 55% winning percentage. The borderless 7 1/4 x 9 1/2 photo is in excellent condition and the photographic quality is sublime, with various handwritten notations and a copy of the published photo on the reverse. LOA from PSA/DNA.
