They don't call you "The Big Hurt" unless you've made a career of inflicting damage on your opponent, and that's exactly what Frank Thomas did for 19 major league seasons. Although he never captured a home run crown, Thomas consistently slammed 35-40 round trippers annually and won back to back American League MVP Awards in 1993-94, joining the elite crew of 500 home run members in 2007. The featured game-used bat comes from the 1997 season when Frank Thomas won the American League batting title with a .353 average. An uncracked Rawlings Adirondack Big Stick, this stick measures 34 1/2" and weighs 31 ounces with stampings on the knob of "576B", "009A" and "075 97", the last indicating that it is from the 1997 season. Excellent game use is displayed with numerous ball marks that have removed the black finish. Some slight grain separation is visible, and next to his block letter name on the barrel is a silver marker signature. A fantastic gamer from a fantastic Hall of Famer. COA from Frank Thomas, LOA from John Taube - PSA/DNA with a grade of GU 9.
