Directly from the Hillerich & Bradsby Archives with a LOA from the Louisville Slugger Museum, featured is a wonderful image of Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle, locked in on the pitching machine as he takes batting practice in 1961. Having banked MVP awards and a Triple Crown season in the 1950s, Mantle now had Babe Ruth and Roger Maris in his sights to try to become the single-season home run record holder. Snapped by Don Wingfield, one of the foremost photographers of his day, the photo is stamped on the reverse with several handwritten notations. A wonderful depiction of Mantle in his race for the home run crown. Measures 8 x 10 with an LOA from PSA/DNA.
