Perhaps the most forgotten player in the illustrious 500 home run club, Hall of Famer Jim Thome only won one home run crown and never led the league in any other major offensive category. What Thome did do was quietly post impressive numbers year after year, routinely dropping 30-40 bombs per season (52 in 2002). When Thome was done swatting baseballs, he closed out his career with a surprising 612 lifetime homers, and at a time where steroids were calling into question the integrity of most of the great home run hitters of the game, Thome's name was never mentioned. Presented is a game-used bat that originates from the rookie era of Jim Thome's great career. This two-tone Louisville Slugger model T141 stick is light at just 30.3 ounces with a length of 34 1/2 inches, is uncracked and shows evidence of moderate use with a few ball marks, stitch impressions and bat rack marks. His number "25" and "Thome" are written on the knob in black marker, with his number also appearing in white on the top of the barrel. Louisville Slugger records show that Thome only had a single order of two-toned bats, and that was made April 7th, 1992. A fantastic gamer of a true home run masher! LOA from John Taube - PSA/DNA with a grade of GU 8.
