Stamped on the reverse by Brown Bros. (Fulton, NY), this type III photograph was created from a duplicate negative in the 1910s and is one the finest we've ever seen of "The Flying Dutchman," Honus Wagner. Mild surface marks typical of such an aged relic are visible but the photo is well-preserved considering the extremely thin paper stock, with a perimeter that is resistant to rips and tears. There are several newspaper notations appearing on the reverse, a tribute to the popularity of this particular shot for print purposes, and the photo measures roughly 5 1/2" x 8" overall.
