A multi-sport superstar considered to be one of the great athletes that ever lived, Hall of Famer Jim Thorpe poses in uniform as a member of the Carlisle Indians. The featured photo is a Type II restrike from the 1930s and has "Jim Thorpe 1912" on the surface, a year in which Thorpe thrived under Coach Pop Warner. The 7 x 5 photo shows surprisingly little wear for its age and the reverse has a Harris & Ewing copyright stamp with written notation that the photo was taken at the 1912 Georgetown-Carlisle game. A wonderful photo of an American icon.
