When this 1960 Topps card released, "The Say Hey Kid" had turned in another typical Willie Mays season with 34 dingers, a .313 batting average and a league-leading 27 base swipes. Still only 28 years old, Mays was exactly halfway to the 500 home run club, a mark he would reach at the age of 34, youngest in the National League. Carrying the seldom seen grade of PSA 9, this pack-fresh, perfectly centered specimen has plenty of deep coloring to complement the uncanny whiteness of the perimeter while at least two of the four endpoints make a compelling case for GEM MINT status. Over 4,000 have been graded by PSA and just 2 have ranked higher, making this a truly fantastic card for advanced collectors or PSA Set Registry caliber set-builders.
