Once you decide to go for the 1952 Topps master set and snap up the low number series in both red and black backs, you realize pretty quickly that some of them, at the PSA 8 level, are just plain tough. This example of Con Dempsey's black back variation is one of only 14 at the PSA 8 assessment with just a pair graded higher. Arguably worthy of a half-point bump due to mostly NM/MT+ or better characteristics, this fresh looking specimen is just slightly positioned toward the bottom edge, making it high-end for the present grade.
